Dyke And The Blazers was an American funk and soul band formed in 1965 in Phoenix, Arizona. They are best known for their 1966 hit single "Funky Broadway," which was later covered even more successfully by other artists. The band experienced several lineup changes over the years, particularly in the late 1960s and early 1970s, when various musicians participated in recording sessions. The band ultimately disbanded after the tragic death of bandleader "Dyke" Arlester Christian, who was shot to death in 1971.
