E-Z Rollers is a duo consisting of Jay Hurren and Alex Banks, known for defining the easy-rolling two-step sound of Moving Shadow Records in the late '90s. They initially developed hardcore breakbeats earlier in the decade under the names JMJ & Richie and Hyper On Experience. Both artists were involved in the mid-'80s rare-groove and hip-hop scene in East Anglia, where they promoted shows and DJed. Following the rave explosion, they also ventured into house music, with Banks focusing increasingly on production work in his home studio during the early '90s, while Hurren continued to mix at events, often billed as JMJ. The duo began recording separately after meeting jungle pioneer L.T.J Bukem—Banks with Hyper On Experience and Hurren with JMJ & Richie, as well as his solo project Parallel World. Their various singles for Rob Playford's Moving Shadow and Bukem's Good Looking, including "Montana" and "Universal Horn" as JMJ & Richie, and "Thunder Grip" and "Lords of the Null Lines" as Hyper-On Experience, helped establish the template for smooth drum'n'bass with jazz textures and swift rhythms suitable for club vibes. After collaborating with vocalist Kelly Richards at one of their gigs, Hurren and Banks formed E-Z Rollers. Their debut album, Dimensions of Sound, was released in mid-1996, followed by several singles for Moving Shadow and the full-length follow
