Eamonn Doyle is a pivotal figure in Irish dance music, recognized for his multifaceted contributions as a DJ, producer, label owner/manager, club promoter, and advocate for techno and electronic music. He co-founded the legendary indie label Dead Elvis in 1991 and later established D1 Recordings in 1994, providing a platform for Irish producers and consistently delivering quality releases from both local and international talent, including Donnacha Costello and Laurent Garnier. In 2004, Doyle launched D1ASPORA, a sister label aimed at highlighting the diversity of new talent in Ireland's electronic music scene. He is also the founder of Model One, the longest-running techno club in Ireland, which has hosted a variety of notable guests over the years. As a resident DJ at Model One, Doyle has extensive experience performing across Europe and is set for his second Asian tour in Spring 2007. In addition to his work as a DJ, Doyle produces music under the name D1 and collaborates with Scott Logan as Active Service Unit. His contributions to the electronic music landscape in Ireland include founding the Dublin Electronic Arts Festival (DEAF) in 2002, which aims to introduce electronic arts to new environments and audiences, showcasing a diverse lineup of international and Irish artists.
