Throughout his career, Earl collaborated with notable musicians such as Ernie Fields, Bardu Alì, Jay McShann, Earl Hines, Billy Eckstine, King Kolax, Charlie Parker, Howard McGhee, Fats Navarro, Max Roach, Gene Ammons, Art Farmer, Sonny Rollins, Gigi Gryce, Don Byas, Billy Taylor, Frank Foster, and Elmo Hope, among others.
