Early Clover, born in 1953 in Dublin, Georgia, formed his band at the age of 16. He gained recognition as the opening act for prominent artists in the southern United States, including Betty Wright, The Temptations, The Marvellettes, and Tyrone Davis. In the 1970s, he served as the road band and backup for notable musicians such as William Bell, Rufus Thomas, and Joe Simon, and collaborated with James Brown on songwriting techniques. Currently based in Las Vegas, Early Clover remains active in the music scene.
