Earthling was a mid-90s Bristol-based outfit consisting of producer Tim Saul and MC Mau. They frequently collaborated with vocalists Moni and Segun, and notably with co-producer and multi-instrumentalist Edison. The group had strong ties to other Bristol acts, particularly Portishead, with Geoff Barrow contributing to their debut LP, Radar. Earthling faced challenges when they were dropped by EMI before the release of their second album, Humandust, which eventually came out in 2004 on the French Discograph label. The lineup occasionally included a jazz vocalist and dancer, as well as bassist Andy Edison and a scratch DJ.
