**Earthrise Bio** Founded in New Jersey, USA in 1975, Earthrise emerged during the peak of the first golden era of progressive rock. The band was formed by three American musicians: Kenn Pierog (bass), Bill Drobile (keys), and Greg DiDonato (drums). They took their name from a CAMEL song, although they identified more closely with the style of Emerson, Lake & Palmer (EL&P). Earthrise primarily performed live and released their self-titled debut album in 1977. However, due to dissatisfaction with the album's thin sound, only 400 copies were pressed, with some sold and others given to friends. The band disbanded in 1979 without recording a follow-up album. Unexpectedly, Earthrise became a sought-after collector's item, with their album fetching prices between $800 and $1,000 at auctions. Fans began reaching out for new music, prompting the band to reform in 2000. Unfortunately, they faced challenges in creating a new recording of their original music, as the master tapes were missing. They produced a remastered CDR from an old vinyl, which found some success on their website. Currently, the band is working on a new record, although the project remains on standby. While some have labeled Earthrise as an EL&P clone, this characterization seems unfair. Their sound, as heard in YouTube videos, leans more towards CAMEL, showcasing a vibrant use of Hammond organ
