East Of Eden was formed in Bristol by Dave Arbus, Ron Caines, Geoff Nicholson, and Geoff Britton. The band relocated to London in 1968 and signed with Decca's progressive rock label, releasing their debut album "Mercator Projected" in 1969. They were among the groups that performed at the relocated Actuel Festival held from October 24-28, 1969, in Mont de l'Enclus, Amougies, Belgium. This event was broadcast on French radio and featured performances captured in the documentaries "Music Power" and "European Music Revolution." East Of Eden appeared on the concert bill on Tuesday, October 28, following other acts, and shared the stage with a variety of 'free jazz' and 'new music' performers that day.
