East Wall was an Italian electronic dark wave band formed in 1982 by Fabrizio Chiari, an ex-keyboardist of Kirlian Camera, and Wilma Notari. After releasing a series of demos and performing live, they enlisted Angelo Bergamini from Kirlian Camera to assist with arrangements and synthesizers. The band achieved significant success in Germany with their debut single "Eyes Of Glass" in 1985, which led to a deal with ZYX. By 1991, the lineup included Fabrizio Chiari (synthesizer, electronics, keyboards), Tiziana Wells (vocals, synthesizer), and Angelo Bergamini (synthesizer, piano, arrangement). Early in that year, they recorded a new batch of songs at Prominence Studio in Cremona and A Love Sound Studio in Piacenza. They self-released "Silence" in 1991, with the lead track being a leftover song from Kirlian Camera recorded in 1985, featuring vocals by Simona Buja under the alias Lorenza Larini. The album was created using a variety of classic Roland, Yamaha, and Oberheim synthesizers.
