Eblen Macari is a Mexican composer and musician with a career spanning 40 years, known for his distinctive style that fuses Middle Eastern rhythms, environmental textures, and contemporary modal harmony. He utilizes both 8- and 6-string guitars along with electronic processes in his work. Macari has composed original music for a variety of media, including documentaries, feature films, television series, planetariums, and museums. As the Director of the Eblen Macari Ensemble, he has represented Mexico at significant international festivals. The ensemble combines contemporary guitar, jarana jarocha, harpsichord, and Middle Eastern and Veracruz percussion, re-discovering the Arab and Baroque roots of Mexican music. Their live performances emphasize creative improvisation and the exploration of avant-garde musical languages, influenced by ancient sound traditions. Macari's discography includes more than 15 albums, and he also engages in talks and lectures on his music, highlighting the Middle Eastern influence and Lebanese contributions to the Ibero-American musical landscape.
