Ed Lincoln, born Eduardo Lincoln Barbosa de Sabóia on May 31, 1932, in Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil, was a renowned Brazilian musician, composer, and arranger. He played a significant role in the early development of bossa nova as a bassist and was instrumental in shaping the sound of Brazilian jazz and space age pop as a Hammond organ player. Ed Lincoln passed away on July 16, 2012, in Rio de Janeiro due to respiratory failure at the age of 80.
