Ed Moxey was a Bahamian musician, politician, activist, and writer, born in 1933 on Ragged Island, The Bahamas. He served as the Member of Parliament for Coconut Grove and was regarded as a cultural guru in the West Indies. Throughout his life, Moxey advocated for the preservation and promotion of Bahamian music, even during his political career. He founded the Coconut Groove Chorale and Folklore Troupe and played a key role in organizing festivals that highlighted Bahamian artists. In addition to his political endeavors, Moxey was also a musician, record label head, producer, and manager. He passed away on July 20, 2014, in The Bahamas.
