Ed Smith is a US drummer, percussionist, and vibraphonist based in Dallas, TX. He has collaborated with notable artists such as John Cage, Phil Wilson, Louie Bellson, Johnny Mathis, Ed Soph, Glen Velez, Trichy Sankaran, and Hands On’Semble, among others. In 2009, Smith became endorsed by the instrument manufacturer Malletech and introduced their innovative vibraphone to Europe at the Italian Percussive Arts Society “Days of Percussion” in Fermo, Italy. He showcased this instrument in April 2010 at Juilliard, Rutgers, and William Paterson University. Additionally, Smith performed a solo vibraphone concert at the 2012 Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC). Malletech also produces Smith’s signature vibe mallets.
