Edd "Kookie" Byrnes was an American singer and actor, born on July 30, 1932, in New York City, New York. He gained fame for his starring role in the television series 77 Sunset Strip. Byrnes also appeared in the 1978 film Grease as Vince Fontaine, the host of a teen-dance show. In addition to his acting career, he was a charting recording artist, known for the song "Kookie, Kookie (Lend Me Your Comb)," which he performed with Connie Stevens. Edd Byrnes passed away on January 8, 2020, in Santa Monica, California.
