Eddie Bond (July 1, 1933 - March 20, 2013) was an American country singer and guitar player from Memphis, Tennessee, recognized as one of the pioneers of Rockabilly. In the mid-1950s, he recorded for Mercury Records and toured with notable artists such as Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Warren Smith. Bond is perhaps best known for having rejected the then 18-year-old Elvis Presley during an audition for his band, shortly before Presley recorded his first single at Sun Records. In 1958, Bond founded his own label, which he later sold before relocating to England. His contributions to the genre have been acknowledged by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
