Eddie Floyd is an American singer, songwriter, and producer born on June 25, 1937, in Montgomery, Alabama. He co-founded a vocal group in 1955, which disbanded in 1963. Following the disbandment, Floyd joined a record label as a songwriter and producer, later becoming a recording artist for the label. He achieved his biggest hit in 1966 with a song from his eponymous album released in 1967. Floyd remained with the label until its bankruptcy in 1976, after which he released several albums on other labels, although they did not achieve much commercial success. In the 1990s, he toured with the Blues Brothers Band.
