Eddie Harris was an American jazz and funk saxophonist, pianist, vocalist, and composer, born on October 20, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois. He passed away on November 5, 1996, in Los Angeles, California. In the mid-1960s, he pioneered the use of amplified electric Varitone saxophones and is often associated with the publisher.
