Eddie Hinton was an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter, born on June 15, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida. He made a name for himself as a session musician, collaborating with notable artists such as Percy Sledge, Otis Redding, Arthur Conley, Aretha Franklin, Johnnie Taylor, Wilson Pickett, Joe Tex, Solomon Burke, Johnny Jenkins, and Boz Scaggs, among others. In the late 1970s, he embarked on his own solo career. Hinton passed away on July 28, 1995, in Birmingham, Alabama.
