Eddie Palmeri was an American pianist, band leader, and musician known for his contributions to the Latin genre, particularly his Latin-Jazz approach that featured extended jazz-influenced solos over Latin rhythms. Born on December 15, 1936, in New York City to Corsican and Puerto Rican parents, he, along with his late brother, played a fundamental role in the evolution of Latin Jazz and Salsa. Eddie Palmeri passed away on August 6, 2025, in his home in New Jersey.
