Eddie Palmieri was an American pianist, band leader, and musician known for his contributions to the Latin genre. Born on December 15, 1936, in New York City to Corsican and Puerto Rican parents, he gained recognition for his Latin-Jazz approach, which features extended jazz-influenced solos over Latin rhythms. Along with his late brother, Eddie was a fundamental player in the evolution of Latin Jazz and Salsa. He passed away on August 6, 2025, in his home in New Jersey.
