Eddie Taylor was a blues singer and guitarist born on January 29, 1923, in Benoit, Mississippi. He passed away on December 25, 1985, in Chicago. Taylor moved to Chicago in 1949 and recorded frequently from 1953 to 1967, significantly contributing to the Jimmy Reed sound. He made his first recordings under his own name for Vee-Jay in 1955 and later recorded albums for Testament in 1966, Advent in 1972, P-Vine in Japan in 1977, and Antone's in 1985. Taylor was the father of a blues guitarist and a blues drummer, and he was also the stepfather of a blues drummer.
