Eddy Grant is a Guyanese-British singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, born on March 5, 1948, in Plaisance, British Guiana (now Guyana). He moved to the UK with his parents as a young boy and achieved his first number one hit in 1968 as the lead guitarist and main songwriter of a multiracial group. His self-penned song reached the top of the charts and was later covered by another artist, also topping the UK singles chart. Eddy Grant is the brother of reggae deejay and singer known as Little Brother Grant. He co-founded a record label in 1970, opened another in 1972, and established yet another record label in 1974. In 1982, he relocated to Barbados, where he opened a new venture and started a record label in the 2000s.
