Edward Larry Gordon, known by his stage name Venus Nadabrahmananda, is an American musician whose work focuses on meditation and yoga. Since the late 1970s, he has performed in the USA and internationally, showcasing his innovative style of electric open-tuned zither/harp. After studying piano, music theory, and composition at Howard University School of Fine Arts in Washington, DC, during the mid-1960s, he was inspired to move to New York to explore Eastern philosophy, meditation, and metaphysics. His journey began with busking in New York City in the late 1970s and early 1980s, leading to performances of improvisational compositions on concert stages, collaborations in interdisciplinary artist events, Spirit Festivals, Yoga Expos, and numerous recording sessions. His unique zither sound has garnered a peaceful global following. His alias is derived from a slurring of his middle name and last initial.
