Egil Johansen, known by the nickname Egil "Bop," was a Norwegian-Swedish jazz drummer, educator, composer, and arranger. He was born on January 11, 1934, in Oslo, Norway, and passed away on April 12, 1998, in Huddinge, Sweden. Throughout his career, Johansen collaborated with notable musicians such as Einar Stenberg, Egil Monn-Iversen, Arne Domnérus, Bengt Hallberg, Rune Gustafsson, Georg Riedel, Quincy Jones, and Harry Arnold. In addition to his musical contributions, he played the role of the Captain in the 1995 Norwegian TV advent calendar series "Julefergå," where he appeared alongside other key cast members. He was also a father.
