El Gran Fellove, born Francisco Fellove on October 7, 1923, in Havana, Cuba, was a renowned Mexican composer and singer. He was contemporary with notable figures in Cuban music such as El Niño Rivera, Tito Puente, Chico O'Farrill, Celia Cruz, Olga Guillot, and Omara Portuondo. At the age of 17, he composed the song "Mango," inspired by the fruit sellers in his native land who would proclaim their goods. This catchy tune, featuring the repetitive phrase "mango," gained popularity and was first recorded by Miguelito Valdés, followed by Celia Cruz and other artists, including several European musicians. El Gran Fellove passed away on February 15, 2013, in Mexico City.
