Elaine Stritch was an Emmy and Tony Award-winning American actress and singer, born on February 2, 1925, in Detroit, Michigan. She passed away on July 17, 2014, in Birmingham, Michigan. Stritch was a muse and collaborator, culminating in her acclaimed 2001 one-woman show, "Elaine Stritch at Liberty." She gained recognition in the UK for the 1970s sitcom "Two's Company" and was most recently known in the US for her role in the sitcom "30 Rock," where she portrayed the mother of Alec Baldwin's character, Jack Donaghy, earning an Emmy Award in 2007.
