Eleanor Rigby, an influential figure in pop music, emerged on the scene in 1985, described as a blend of The Kinks, Blondie, and The Jam at their best. Her impact was significant, inspiring many female singers of the next generation and being frequently referenced by major Britpop artists in the mid-90s. Despite a brief and controversial career, her limited releases have made her a cult figure among collectors. Eleanor's original output consists of only four singles and an album titled Censorship, which is highly sought after. Her debut single, "I Want To Sleep With You," released in 1985, created a sensation by including a free condom, leading to its ban due to the title and the giveaway. This controversy mirrored the rebellious spirit of the Sex Pistols, and the single became a must-have for Mods. Following this, she released more singles, including "Take Another Shot Of My Heart," "Mad Xmas," and the classic 60s-style track "Over and Over," the latter of which was praised as the best single Ray Davies never wrote.
