Elements Of Life is a live band project led by Vega, inspired by groups and artists such as War, Cymande, Stevie Wonder, Johnny Hammond, and Herbie Hancock’s Headhunters. The project began in 2000 with the release of their debut work, written by Vega. The first album, credited to Vega, was released in Japan in 2003 and had a wider release in 2004, followed by a remix album in 2005. Both albums were reissued in 2020 with similar artwork, now credited to Elements Of Life. Vega's first EOL remix was in 2003, and he won a Grammy in 2006 for the Curtis Mayfield EOL remix. In 2007, a one-off release featuring Vega's wife was launched after their pre-game appearance at Super Bowl XLI. Vega signed to a label associated with his uncle for the release of their second album in March 2013. While not an EOL album, the band played a significant role in Vega's 2023 album. The current lineup includes a musical director and conductor, keyboardists and vocalists, bass, percussionists, and multiple vocalists.
