Ella Mae Morse was an American singer born on September 12, 1924, in Mansfield, Texas. She gained popularity in the 1940s and 1950s with hits such as "The Black Smith Blues," "Cow Cow Boogie," and "Milkman Keep Those Bottles Quiet." Morse passed away on October 16, 1999, in Bullhead City, Arizona. She was known to have influenced the rock singing style of the 1950s, including Elvis Presley, who credited her with teaching him how to sing.
