Elly & Rikkert are a Dutch folk music and chanson duo that began their musical journey in the late 1960s. In the mid-1970s, around 1976, they converted to Christianity and shifted their focus to creating religious pop music, with a strong emphasis on Christian messages, particularly during the mid-70s to early 80s. In the early 1980s, their lyrics evolved to address more societal themes, starting with their album "Maskers Af." Their children's music continued to feature more direct lyrical content.
