Founded in the late 1960s, the original lineup consisted of Jukka Syrenius (guitar), Timo Hannukainen, Veli-Pekka Pessi (bass), and Rainer Koski (drums). Following the release of the album, Pessi and Rantasila departed, and the band brought in new members Hannu Nieminen (bass) and Reijo Hannuksela (drums). By the mid-1970s, Elonkorjuu began to shift towards a funk/soul-based rock sound, incorporating new members including Veli-Pekka Pessi (bass), Veikko Nuotio (drums), Kari Tamminen (vocals, who replaced Heikki Lajunen), Jukka Unkila (tenor saxophone), Petri Heimonen (alto saxophone), and Pekka Tyni (piano). Guitarist Seppo Tyni also contributed to the band for a brief period.
