María Elvira Gallegos Ríos, known as Elvira Rios, was a renowned Mexican singer and actress born in Mexico City on November 16, 1913. She passed away in the same city on January 13, 1987. Ríos is celebrated as one of the most notable performers of Agustín Lara's songs and was the first Mexican singer to achieve international success through various mediums, including radio, records, nightclub engagements, tours, and films. Her popularity extended across Mexico, the United States, Brazil, Argentina, and France. Some of her greatest hits include "Noche de ronda," "Flores negras," "Perfidia," "Desesperadamente," and "Ausencia."
