Elyse Weinberg was a Canadian-American singer-songwriter born on October 25, 1945, in Chatham, Ontario, Canada. She passed away on February 20, 2020, in Ashland, Oregon, USA. In her later years, she was known as Cori Bishop. Weinberg's artistic journey was intertwined with the Toronto Yorkville artistic collective, which included notable artists such as Neil Young, Joni Mitchell, Ian & Sylvia, Gordon Lightfoot, and Buffy Sainte-Marie. In the 1960s, she, along with many of these artists, moved to Los Angeles to become part of the Laurel Canyon scene. Neil Young played guitar on her song "Houses," although he was uncredited on early releases. Her 1969 album, "Greasepaint Smile," which featured this track, was delayed due to the bankruptcy of the record company but was eventually released in 2015.
