Elzbieta Sikora, born on October 20, 1943, in Lwów, is a Polish composer and sound engineer. She completed her studies in electronic music with Pierre Schaeffer and François Bayle in Paris from 1968 to 1972 and studied computer music with John Chowning at Stanford University. Between 1972 and 1974, she studied composition under Tadeusz Baird and Zbigniew Rudziński in Warsaw. In 1973, she co-founded the KEW collective with Krzysztof Knittel and Wojciech Michniewski. In 1981, Sikora moved to France, where she was appointed to teach electro-acoustic music at the Conservatoire national de région in Angoulême in 1985. She has created works at the Groupe de recherches musicales (GRM), at IRCAM, and for Radio France.
