Emerald Web was an electronic/New Age music duo consisting of Kat Epple and Bob Stohl, active from 1978 to 1990. They recorded and toured across the United States, performed in planetariums, and composed soundtracks for Carl Sagan. The duo released 11 albums, including "Catspaw," which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1986. Their music featured a unique blend of electronic space music and acoustic instruments, utilizing keyboards, digital orchestrations, flutes, and the Lyricon, a hybrid synthesizer/woodwind instrument capable of producing various sounds, including those of electric guitar, oboe, and French horn. Bob Stohl, who played keyboards, Lyricon, and flute, passed away in 1989 at the age of 34. Kat Epple, a flautist, keyboardist, and vocalist, continues to release albums under her own name, compose television and film scores, and perform concerts worldwide. Other musicians who collaborated with Emerald Web include Steve Weiner.
