Emmylou Harris is an American country and folk singer and songwriter, born on April 2, 1947, in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. She began her career as a folk singer in Washington D.C. during the late 1960s and first recorded for Jubilee in 1969. In February 2008, Harris was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Throughout her life, she has been married three times, first to a songwriter, then to a producer, and in her third marriage to another songwriter and producer.
