Thomas Wincek, known by his stage name Emotional Joystick, is an instrumentalist who combines his passion for sound with his skills as a computer operator. He focuses on the convergence of organic and electronic sound production and has studied sound composition and improvisation with notable figures such as Nicolas Collins, John Corbett, and Rob Drinkwater. As the driving force behind the experimental electronic dance act Emotional Joystick, he has successfully integrated improvisation and sonic exploration into contemporary dance music. His work has led to releases on various independent labels, tours across the United States and Europe, and performances alongside renowned acts like Tortoise, Venetian Snares, No Means No, Dillinger Escape Plan, Otto von Shirach, Doormouse, and Eight Frozen Modules. Recently, he has joined the band Collections of Colonies of Bees, contributing rhodes piano to their upcoming album set to be released on Table of the Elements and performing with them on stage.
