Emtidi was a prog folk and acid folk duo formed in 1970 in London, consisting of Canadian and German members. They later relocated to Berlin. After the release of their second album, Dolly Holmes left the band. Maik Hirschfeldt then formed a new lineup with Georg Karger and Franz Müller, attempting to record material for a third album. However, the group eventually disbanded due to the inability to find a suitable substitute for Dolly Holmes. Following the disbandment, Maik Hirschfeldt left the music scene, while the other musicians went on to establish the jazz-rock band Niagara and remain active in various jazz bands.
