En Plo is a band that originated in Athens in 1985, formed by Dinos Sadikis (vocals), Dimos Zamanos (guitar), Dimitris Kafousias (bass), and Christos Politis (drums). Sadikis and Politis had previously played together in a band called Mavra Tigania. The trio began rehearsals at Zamanos's house and later welcomed Mimis Kafousias (bass) and Regina Makri (vocals and keyboards). With assistance from another former Mavra Tigania member, Stefanos Kanellis, they released their first demo in 1987. However, the original line-up disbanded later that year due to various events, including the police shooting of their friend, anarchist Michalis Prekas. Sadikis and Zamanos reformed the band, bringing in Kostas Kalogiros as the new drummer. In 1988, they entered the studio to record an album, financed and produced by their friend Andreas Hristofilis. The initial recording did not meet their expectations, leading to a re-recording in early 1989. Their self-titled album was released in May 1989, shrouded in mystery as none of the band members' names or photos appeared on the record.
