Enrique Nery was a Mexican jazz pianist born in 1945 and passed away on February 23, 2014. He developed an interest in music at a very young age, and by the age of twelve, he was already performing with orchestras such as The Chuck Anderson's Orchestra, Luis Arcaraz, and Pablo Beltran Ruiz. From 1957 to 1960, he studied at the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica under notable instructors including Aura Pacheco, Carlos Jimenez Mabarak, and Rodolfo Halfter. Nery contributed musical arrangements for prominent Mexican artists such as Jose Jose, Eugenia Leon, Guadalupe Pineda, and Vikki Carr. He also participated in recording sessions with Pedro Vargas, Armando Manzanero, and Marco Antonio Muñiz, among others. Additionally, he served as the Musical Director for Luis Miguel, Monna Bell, Carlos Lico, and Emmanuel. In the jazz scene, he shared the stage with musicians like Justo Almario, Abraham Laboriel, Oscar Stagnaro, and Clarence Penn.
