Enzo Kreft, the pseudonym of Belgian visual artist and musician Eric Vandamme, resides in Mechelen, situated between Brussels and Antwerp. In the early eighties, he released two obscure minimal wave cassette albums that showcased a dark and atmospheric sound, utilizing lo-fi overdubbing techniques with various synthesizers, a rhythm box, tapeloops, and an electric guitar. His debut album, "Me Is" (1983), has become a sought-after collector's item, featuring notable tracks such as "Beauty Queen" and "Erotic Fantaseesz." In his second album, "Cicatrice" (1984), Enzo paints a picture of an apocalyptic society filled with fear, paranoia, and destruction.
