EQ Why, originally known as DJ T-Why, is an influential figure in the Chicago footwork scene, known for his raw and abstract tracks that blend the energetic elements of juke and footwork with jungle-influenced breakbeats and unconventional samples. He was affiliated with the Bosses of the Circle collective, founded by DJ Roc in 2005, alongside notable artists like Young Smoke and Jlin. EQ Why contributed to the 2011 compilation "Bangs & Works, Vol. 2" on Planet Mu, showcasing his work as T-Why before rebranding to EQ Why in 2012. His debut release under the new name was the Equalized EP, which marked the beginning of a prolific output of music. Notable releases include the 12" EP "Enter the Why, Vol. 1: You Got It" in July 2013, the CD "The Dynamic Time" from the Japanese label Booty Tune, and the "Chitokyo Mixtape," a 60-track cassette released by Orange Milk. In late 2014, he collaborated with DJ Elmoe on the digital split EP "EMC2," followed by the full-length album "World Relief" in 2015, featuring collaborations with DJ Roc.
