**Bio: Eric and the Norsemen** Eric and the Norsemen, known as the "Wildest Show in the Midwest," were a popular band that played to large and enthusiastic crowds across a nine-state area from 1965 to 1968. The original members, Mike Willman, Kenny Kramer, and Jimmy Kocher, were students at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, where they formed the band in the fall of 1964. They played their first show on February 5, 1965, in Liberty, Missouri, and quickly gained a following in college towns like Lawrence and Manhattan, as well as small towns in Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. Initially, there was no "Eric" in the band, but as audiences inquired about the name, Roger assumed the role, becoming a natural showman who energized performances. The band played regularly, building a strong following and performing in various venues throughout the Midwest. In December 1965, Kenny left the band and was replaced by Forrest "Tree" Cloud, which enhanced their vocal capabilities and contributed to their high-energy performances. The band gained further popularity through radio ads on KOMA in Oklahoma City, attracting fans who would travel long distances to see them play.
