**Bio: Eric and the Norsemen** Eric and the Norsemen, known as the "Wildest Show in the Midwest," were a dynamic band that captivated large audiences across a nine-state area from 1965 to 1968. The original members—Mike Willman, Kenny Kramer, Jimmy Kocher, and Roger—were students at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, Kansas, where they formed the band in the Fall of 1964. Their first performance took place on February 5, 1965, in Liberty, Missouri. Throughout the Spring of 1965, they played in college towns such as Lawrence and Manhattan, as well as in smaller towns in Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska. With Roger and Mike sharing lead vocals, Mike on lead guitar, and Roger on rhythm guitar, the band quickly gained a following. After Kenny left in December 1965, Forrest "Tree" Cloud joined on bass, adding to the band's vocal strength and high-energy performances. The Norsemen became known for their loud and fast music, perfect for dancing, and began running radio ads on KOMA in Oklahoma City, which helped expand their reach. In 1967, they recorded a 45 rpm single featuring "Get It On" and "Scotch and Soda," along with a live studio album that, while never released, became part of their legacy.
