Eric Burdon And War is a multi-national R&B and Latin funk group based in Los Angeles, California. The group evolved from a collection of musicians previously known as The Creators, The Romeos, and Nightshift, who played the L.A. club circuit. They were discovered and promoted by a key figure who connected them with frontman and vocalist Eric Burdon, who is also a harmonica player. The band released their first album in 1970. After Burdon's departure in 1971, the group continued to perform and record under the name War. Eric Burdon & War reunited in 1976 for a final, third album.
