Ernie Ashworth was an American country singer, musician, and broadcaster, born on December 15, 1928, in Huntsville, Alabama. He became a longtime member of the Grand Ole Opry, joining in 1964. Ashworth was recognized for his contributions to music, being inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2008 and the America's Old Time Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. He passed away on March 2, 2009, in Nashville, Tennessee.
