Ernie Chaffin was born in Water Valley, North Mississippi, in January 1928. He is known for producing some of the most original music from the famous SUN Studio, where he recorded four singles during the height of the Rockabilly explosion in the South. His friend and manager, Pewee Maddux, played a significant role in his career, recognizing Ernie's talent and encouraging him to pursue his musical endeavors. Ernie Chaffin passed away on April 16, 1997.
