Tore Andreas "Erot" Kroknes was a promising artist in the house music scene, known for his pioneering deep, dubby sound. Born in Norway, he gained recognition in the late 90s and early 00s through notable releases such as "Song For Annie" and remixes for various artists including Bertine Zetlitz, DK, Kings of Convenience, and Mental Overdrive. He also produced the classic pop single "The Greatest Hit" for his girlfriend, Annie. In his hometown of Bergen, Erot was an influential figure, DJing alongside Bjørn Torske at clubs like Agora and Kennel, and contributing significantly to the Tellé label, where he served as the in-house designer, creating the Tellé logo and early album sleeves, as well as logos and posters for other Norwegian artists. Despite his talent, Tore suffered from heart problems from birth, which ultimately led to his untimely passing in April 2001 at the age of 23 after a prolonged illness. His loss was deeply felt in the music community, with Stephan Grieder of the Svek label noting his originality and potential, while Bjørn Torske emphasized the invaluable contributions he made both musically and design-wise, stating that without him, Tellé would not have existed.
