Escombros, meaning "Trash" in Spanish, was a Chilean rock band that emerged in the underground scene during the late 1960s and remained active until the early 1970s. The band was part of a vibrant musical environment alongside other groups during that era. In 1970, Escombros released two singles and a self-titled album, showcasing their unique sound. The band's music was primarily crafted by Austrian singer, pianist, and songwriter Walter Sigman, who had traveled to Chile to work as a teacher. He wrote or co-wrote most of their songs, aside from two covers, balancing his teaching duties during the week with live performances on weekends. Escombros drew significant influence from contemporary British and American rock artists. However, in 1971, Walter returned to Vienna, Austria, leading to the band's disbandment. The members of Escombros included: - Walter Ziman: vocals and piano (1967 – 1971) - Lito Benito: guitar (1967 – 1972) - Ricardo Mendeville: guitar (1967 – 1972) - José Rosemblut: bass (1967 – 1972) - Michel Boisier: drums (1967 – 1972)
