Ethel "Beatty" Barnes is a talented singer who made her debut at the age of three in the Convent Avenue Baptist Church in New York City. She graduated from C. W. Post, Long Island University, with a B.A. Degree in Music Education, focusing on Vocal Technique and Performance. Ethel has performed nationally and internationally in various prestigious venues and has been featured in numerous Broadway and off-Broadway productions, including "The Prodigal Sister," "Bingo Long," "Blues in the Night," "Sugar Hill," "Bubbling Brown Sugar," "Eubie!," "Dreamgirls," and "Showboat." Her film credits include "The Cotton Club" and "Garbo Talks." Additionally, Ethel has recorded for various artists such as George Benson, Billy Ocean, Jonathan Butler, Joe Kurasz, Tyrone Brunson, The Reddings, and Louis St. Louis. In 1996, while performing in "Showboat," she was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor. Despite undergoing surgery and neurological therapy, Ethel was unable to return to her Broadway career.
